Safety

• All visitors must enter through the front doors and check in at the office using our Raptor system, which screens for safety.

• Staff are trained to escort any visitor not wearing a district badge.

• All outside doors are checked twice a week to make sure they’re locked and working properly.

To prepare for emergencies, we hold regular safety drills, including:

• Lockdown

• Fire drills

• Severe weather shelter

• Lockout or secure drills

We  complete at least four drills by mid-September, and we continue them throughout the year.

• All school staff—including substitutes—receive yearly safety training.

• Staff also learn how to manage conflict, follow lockdown procedures, and use safety tools if needed.

There are two easy and anonymous ways to report safety concerns:

1) Say Something: Students and parents can submit tips about bullying, threats, or self-harm using the Say Something Website

2) Campus Crime Stoppers: Submit anonymous tips about serious violations or criminal activity on the Crime Stoppers Website

• Our school counselor supports students with social and emotional needs.

• Dallas ISD mental health professionals can provide extra help when needed.

• Families may also be referred to Youth and Family Centers, where students and parents can access:

  • Counseling

  • Psychiatric care

  • Parent workshops
