Vision
William Lipscomb Elementary, an IB World School, will become the premier elementary school in Dallas ISD.
Mission
Lipscomb Elementary will empower students to be internationally-minded, independent, inquiry-based learners to succeed in a future they create.
IB Mission Statement
The International Baccalaureate® aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
Philosophy
Inclusion is an ongoing process that increases access and engagement for all students by identifying and removing barriers to learning. It is facilitated through collaboration, mutual respect, support, and problem solving.
Inclusion Models at Lipscomb
- ECSE (Early Childhood Special Education): Classrooms serving ages 3–5 focused on play, exploration, and routines with individualized supports.
- Collaborative Pre-K & Kindergarten: General classrooms team-taught by two certified teachers.
- Inclusion in Grades 1–5: Students supported by classroom teachers plus special education teacher, intervention aide, and case manager as documented in IEPs.
Programs & Supports
- English Language Learners (immersion, dual language, or general classroom with certified ELL teacher)
- Gifted & Talented (K–5 pull-out program; minimum two hours weekly)
- Social-emotional and physical wellbeing supports (SEL resources, counseling, district support)

Ongoing Review
The Inclusion Policy is reviewed annually by the pedagogical leadership team (administrators, IB coordinator, reading coach, SPED team, teachers). Revisions are completed by the end of September, shared with staff and PTA, and posted on the school website.
