Meet The Principal

Meet Principal Carter

Principal Carter has dedicated his life’s work to empowering students in public schools to excel and flourish in a future they shape for themselves.

Hailing from Houston, Texas, Mr. Carter was raised by a single mother who epitomized resilience and dedication. Despite facing adversity in his upbringing, Mr. Carter found solace and inspiration in the classroom, where his passion for learning fueled his belief in his own potential.

Recognizing the transformative impact of public education, Mr. Carter relocated to Dallas with a mission to provide similar opportunities for his students. As a teacher and Social Studies Department Chair at North Dallas High School, he imparted knowledge across a diverse range of subjects, from AP Human Geography to Current Events. Transitioning into the role of Academic Coordinator, Mr. Carter spearheaded campus-wide educational initiatives and provided tailored support to teachers in subjects such as US History and Algebra II, resulting in significant improvements in student performance on standardized exams.

Advancing to the position of Assistant Principal, Mr. Carter assumed responsibility for guiding students in 11th and 12th grades while overseeing various academic departments, including Math, Science, Fine Arts, Design Thinking, and Career and Technical Education. Notably, he played a pivotal role in introducing and implementing North Dallas’ inaugural Design Thinking Program, positioning the school as a trailblazer in innovative educational approaches.

Beyond his campus commitments, Mr. Carter has contributed extensively to educational development by crafting curriculum for the district’s social studies department. He remains actively engaged in local advocacy efforts, leveraging his role as a Fellow with Leadership ISD and Dallas C.O.R.E. to foster meaningful connections between students and community leaders.

Now assuming the role of Principal at Lipscomb Elementary, Mr. Carter continues to be driven by his personal mission, to “cultivate a learning community in which teachers find joy in, and are committed to improving their craft, so their students develop a love for learning and the self-discipline needed to compete in whatever they choose to do.”
