Since opening its doors in 1921, William Lipscomb Elementary has stood as a beacon of learning and community in East Dallas. Named after William Lipscomb, a distinguished Dallas attorney and civic leader, the school was designed by the renowned architectural firm C.D. Hill & Company, featuring a striking Tudor Revival style that reflects its enduring legacy.
As one of the oldest schools in Dallas, Lipscomb Elementary has played a pivotal role in shaping generations of learners. Families from across the neighborhood have made Lipscomb a central part of their lives, with many generations of students proudly walking the same halls.
In 2021, Lipscomb celebrated its centennial anniversary, marking 100 years of excellence in education. This milestone honored the school’s rich traditions and its unwavering commitment to fostering a vibrant, inclusive learning environment. From its historical roots to its modern achievements as an IB World School, Lipscomb continues to be a cornerstone of the community, balancing its storied past with a forward-thinking approach to education.
