Debate

Our fifth graders join forces with the district’s UIL program to sharpen their critical thinking and public speaking skills! Through debate workshops, scrimmages, and district-wide tournaments, students learn to build persuasive arguments and express ideas with confidence. The Lipscomb Debate team shows that even in elementary school, our Lions can speak up and make their voices heard!

Academic UIL

Lipscomb students put their brainpower to the test through the University Interscholastic League’s academic competitions! From math and spelling to creative writing and more, our Lions take on fun challenges that go beyond the classroom. With 17 different contests for elementary students, Academic UIL helps our scholars think critically, problem-solve, and show off their smarts with pride.

Lonestar Challenge

Our Lipscomb Lions rise to the challenge in this exciting, theme-based academic competition! The Lone Star Challenge is the elementary equivalent of Academic Decathlon, where teams of fourth and fifth graders (in Lipscomb’s case!) match wits with students from across Dallas ISD. With events that test knowledge, writing, and problem-solving skills, our students work together, think critically, and proudly represent our school’s spirit of excellence.

Lipscomb Cheer

If you’re ever around Lipscomb, you’ll spot our award-winning cheer squad bringing the spirit! Our energetic team leads the way at school events, rallies, and parades, spreading Lion pride everywhere they go. Being part of the Lipscomb Cheer squad means building confidence, teamwork, and school spirit — all while learning the fundamentals of cheerleading in a fun and supportive environment.

Basketball

Our Lipscomb boys hit the court each fall through our YMCA basketball program! Players learn the basics of basketball, practice teamwork, and build confidence as they compete in a fun, supportive environment. Whether it’s a buzzer-beater shot or a great assist, our Lions show heart and hustle every game!

Soccer Club

Our co-ed Soccer Club, in partnership with the YMCA, gives Lipscomb students a chance to build skills, teamwork, and confidence on the field! Players of all levels come together to learn the fundamentals of soccer, make new friends, and show off their Lion pride in games and practices. It’s all about having fun, staying active, and growing as a team!

Girls on the Run

Lipscomb Lions in 3rd–5th grade can spark joy, confidence, and strength through our partnership with Girls on the Run DFW! Over a season filled with laughter and meaningful lessons, our girls mix social-emotional learning with lots of running games, all culminating in a celebratory 5K. This evidence-based program inspires every girl to recognize her inner strength, make connections, and confidently chase her dreams.

Student Ambassadors

Our Lipscomb Student Ambassadors are fourth and fifth grade leaders who proudly represent our school! These outstanding students help host events, lead school tours, and organize their own fundraisers. Whether they’re welcoming guests or modeling Lipscomb excellence in all they do, our ambassadors show what it means to lead with pride and purpose.

Theatre

Lipscomb students take the stage through our exciting Disney Musicals in Schools partnership, which launched in 2024–2025! Our young performers work together for 16 weeks to bring a magical spring musical to life. From singing and dancing to set design, students shine as they learn the art of theatre. Our inaugural production, 101 Dalmatians Kids, set the bar high — and we can’t wait to see what’s next!

CityDance (Ballet Program)

Through our partnership with Texas Ballet Theater, Lipscomb students can experience the magic of ballet — at no cost! Boys and girls explore basic ballet training, French terminology, classical music, and the rich history of ballet in this unique 5-week program. No experience or special attire needed — just enthusiasm and a love of movement! Each dancer even receives free tickets to a professional Texas Ballet Theater performance.
